The cooperation with foreign partners is carried out in the following areas:
• development of new materials according to technical requirements of a customer;
• comprehensive tests and researches of materials and their certification;
• production of pilot batches of materials and semi-finished products according to specifications of a customer;
• conclusion of license agreements on the transfer of previously developed technologies;
• collaborative developments of new technologies;
• production and supply of equipment.
FSUE “VIAM” has long-term work programs with many foreign companies, acting in conformity with the general agreements.
Cooperation with the Beijing institute of aeronautics materials has been implemented in accordance with the ongoing research programs in the field of materials science for civil aviation as well as contracts on research scientific works, transfer of technologies and supply of equipment.
In 2013 FSUE “VIAM” and AVIC Aviation Foundation Technology Establishment signed the framework agreement on cooperation and collaborative activities in the field of implementation of fundamentally oriented and applied researches furthermore they agreed upon priority areas of work.
This document became the basis for expanding and qualitative updating the scientific-research cooperation of the Russian and Chinese parties.
At present, implementation of agreements reached with the Chinese party is entrusted on the Beijing institute of aeronautics materials, which jointly with FSUE “VIAM” begin working on a new stage of cooperation in the field of materials and technologies of new generation in the interests of developing advanced products of aviation engineering.
Ambassador of India in the Russian Federation H.E. Shri Pankaj Saran visited FSUE “VIAM” in 2016. Based on the results of the visit new prospects for further development and strengthening cooperation of the institute with the Indian enterprises and companies in the field of science and innovations were determined.
The signing of the Agreement between FSUE “VIAM” and Atlas Material Testing Technology (USA) and entry of FSUE “VIAM” into the commonwealth of ATLAS – networks, providing services for climatic tests with the use of the latest technologies and technical solutions, are of a great importance for international recognition of scientific activities of FSUE “VIAM” in the field of climatic tests of materials.
